Michigan (2-1) junior running back Chris Evans did not participate in pre-game warm-ups and is not dressed for action for the Wolverines’ Big Ten opener against Nebraska (0-2), per MLive.com.

Earlier this week, running backs coach Jay Harbaugh said Evans had been an active participant in practice despite exiting in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury against SMU in Week 3.

Senior Karan Higdon, who missed last week’s game due to an undisclosed injury and is listed as the team’s No. 1 back on the depth chart, is back in the lineup and looks to take the bulk of the carries vs. the Cornhuskers this afternoon with junior Tru Wilson and sophomore O’Maury Samuels also in the mix for work.

Evans entered Saturday as Michigan’s second-leading rusher with 30 carries for 172 yards (5.7 ypc) and two touchdowns this season.
