Michigan releases full availability report for Rose Bowl
Michigan is gearing up for the College Football Playoff and a Rose Bowl battle with Alabama. The good news for Jim Harbaugh’s program is that the Wolverines will be mostly healthy for the game.
With 2 hours to go before kickoff, Michigan released the full availability report for the matchup. The only player listed as out for the program is star offensive lineman Zak Zinter who suffered a devastating injury in The Game against Ohio State.
Additionally, only one player was listed as questionable for the New Year’s Day game. That player is defensive back DJ Waller, a true freshman who has been a rotational piece on the defense and a contributor on special teams.
Waller contributed 12 total tackles this season and a pass breakup. He saw action at cornerback and on special teams in the B1G Championship Game vs. Iowa.
The good news for Michigan is that star cornerback Will Johnson is not listed on the availability report. Johnson missed the B1G Championship after an injury against Ohio State.
Johnson delivered an interception against the Buckeyes and is traditionally tasked with guarding the No. 1 receiver for Michigan’s defense. Earlier in bowl prep, Johnson gave an optimistic outlook for his status, and it looks like that has come to fruition for Monday.
Kickoff from Pasadena is set for 5 pm ET on ESPN with a trip to the CFP National Championship on the line.
