Michigan tabs CMU staffer for key vacancy, per report
After Michigan’s first B1G Championship under Jim Harbaugh and a trip to the College Football Playoff, the Wolverines are looking to keep a strong staff in Ann Arbor heading forward.
Though staff turnover is inevitable, Michigan will hope to keep most of the key assistants around for 2022 and beyond. One key staffer that was lost at the end of the season is Courtney Morgan. Morgan served as Michigan’s Director of Player Personnel in 2021 but left to fill that position on Kalen DeBoer’s staff at Washington.
Now, Michigan has reportedly found the person to fill that void, and Jim Harbaugh is sticking in-state with his hire. Per Aaron McMann with MLive.com, Michigan is hiring CMU’s Albert Karschnia as the new Director of Player Personnel.
He served in that role at CMU for the past 5 seasons:
He isn’t a splashy hire, but Albert Karschnia has been coveted up at CMU the last couple of years, and helped Jim McElwain and the Chips pull off some monster MAC-level recruiting classes.
