The lead up

Saturday Tradition News: Michigan’s president on Harbaugh’s future: He’s not on the hot seat

After the 24-17 loss to the Irish, there have been people questioning whether Jim Harbaugh is on the hot seat for the remainder of the season and what could happen if Michigan doesn’t defeat Michigan State or Ohio State this year.

But UM President Mark Schlissel has no plans to make any changes anytime soon.

“He’s not on the hot seat,” Schlissel said during a Detroit Economic Club luncheon on Wednesday, according to MLive.com. “He’s under contract for four more years.”

Saturday Tradition News: WMU receiver looking forward to reunion with former Michigan teammates

Saturday’s matchup between Western Michigan and Michigan in Ann Arbor will be a homecoming of sorts for one Broncos receiver.

Drake Harris was at Michigan for four years before heading to Western Michigan as a graduate transfer. He announced his decision to leave the Wolverines in November of 2017.

Now, Harris returns to Ann Arbor where he’ll be reunited with former friends and teammates who will be standing on the sideline across the field.

“I’m just excited to be able to play in the Big House again,” Harris told Patrick Nothaft of Mlive.com. “I’m going to be playing against a lot of my former teammates and former coaches, so it’ll be fun.

“It’s like going back to grade school when you’re playing against your friends out there. I’m just excited mostly and looking to build on what we did last week as an offense.”
