Michigan's 5-star safety, newest verbal commitment has otherworldly athleticism
Football players are athletic.
Whether you’re 6-foot, 200-pounds or a 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman, you’re more athletic than the average person your size. But what about how one football player stacks up against another in terms of athleticism?
That’s a different story.
On Tuesday night, Michigan got a verbal commitment from the No. 1 overall safety in the 2019 class in Daxton Hill. It was a huge pickup for the Wolverines.
At the 2018 Nike Football The Opening — a high school football event featuring some of the best recruits in the country — Hill tested out his athleticism against the other players there. He ranked very highly.
Like, extremely highly. He recorded a 4.30 40-yard dash, which would have been the top time at the 2018 NFL Combine. Hill isn’t even in college yet.
He also has a 43-inch vertical. That’s absurd.
Here’s a look:

If Hill’s skills on the football field are anything like his testing skills, he’s going to be a difference-maker in Ann Arbor. The rest of the conference should remember the name: Daxton Hill.
