Michigan’s roster has taken some hits over the last few weeks with several players opting out of the 2020 college football season. One player who had yet to make a decision was defensive lineman Kwity Paye.

That’s no longer the case.

On Thursday, Paye confirmed on Twitter that he will be returning to the Michigan defensive line for the 2020 season. That’s big news for the Wolverines, getting one of their top performers back for the 2020 season.

Paye made the announcement with a post that was short and sweet on Twitter, simply saying “Let’s ride.”

Michigan has already seen a handful of players opt out of the season, including OL Jalen Mayfield, WR Nico Collins and CB Ambry Thomas. All three are planning to pursue a career in the NFL as their next step.

Earlier this week, it was reported by The Detroit News that QB Dylan McCaffrey was also opting out, but intended to transfer. So the news that Paye will play this fall is a welcomed report in Ann Arbor.

Paye ranked second on the team in sacks for Michigan i n 2019, collecting 6.5 to go along with 12.5 tackles for loss, 50 total stops and 3 QB hurries. He has the potential to be one of the top defensive linemen in the B1G this fall, as well.
