Michigan took on Iowa Thursday night in Iowa City with the two sides producing a classic B1G clash.

Heading into halftime, it was the Hawkeyes that took a narrow lead. Just before the break, Keegan Murray netted a buzzer-beater for the 2-point lead at halftime.

Coming out of the break, it was a different story. Michigan slowly built a lead in the second half with a career-high night from Moussa Diabate. He produced 6 points during a late stretch that increased Michigan’s lead to double digits over the Hawkeyes.

A pair of free throws by Diabate made it 78-66 for the Wolverines with just over 3 minutes left. However, cruising to the end was not in the cards. Iowa responded with a quick 9-0 run to make things interesting all the way to the final whistle.

In the end, Michigan would hit enough free throws to ice the game away. The Wolverines finished off the game with an 84-79 win behind Diabate’s game-high 28 points. Hunter Dickinson added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists while Devante’ Jones posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

On the other side of things, Iowa was led by Keegan Murray with 23 points. Unfortunately, he was less efficient after halftime and finished the game 9-for-23 from the floor. Patrick McCaffery added 13 points but Iowa finished the game a dismal 4-for-18 from 3-point range as a team.
