Newsome announced his retirement prior to the start of the season after suffering from a gruesome injury in 2016. While he was anticipating a return to the field, the risk of reinjury and future health concerns were too severe.
Tracy is an advocate for sexual assault awareness and visits campuses and athletic teams across the country to inform students and athletes about the severity of abuse. She visited the Michigan football team during fall camp.
Michigan hosts Western Michigan on Saturday at the Big House, with kickoff scheduled for noon ET.
A special flyover following the national anthem is also scheduled.
