Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach clarifies comments regarding Tom Brady's return
Tom Brady remains absent from training camp and the preseason for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When exactly he may return is unclear with head coach Todd Bowles readdressing the situation on Friday.
On Thursday, Bowles added a layer to Brady’s absence by indicating there was “no definitive date” for the quarterback to rejoin the team. On Friday, Bowles tried to dispel confusion, saying he knows exactly when Brady will be back with the team (Via The Tampa Bay Times):
“Do I look worried?” Bowles said, smiling broadly according to Rick Stroud. “I’m not worried, so I don’t know why anyone else would be worried.
“I know exactly when Tom is coming back, and I’ve consistently said it would be sometime after the Titans game (on Saturday).”
While Bowles reiterated Brady will return “some time” after the Week 2 preseason game, it is interesting that he still did not provide an exact date for the QB.
Brady initially left Tampa Bay’s camp on Aug. 11. His absence was reportedly pre-planned to attend to personal matters.
