The color red, including sports drinks, reportedly no longer allowed in Michigan's football facilities
Michigan appears to be taking this year’s game against Ohio State a little more seriously than it has in recent years. Eight straight losses, and just two wins against the Buckeyes since 2000, will do that.
Recently, images of a new sign in Michigan’s weight room that reads, “What are you doing to beat Ohio State today?” surfaced on social media. But that’s just one change in Ann Arbor as the Wolverines put a heavy emphasis on ending a long losing streak to the Buckeyes.
According to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, the color red is no longer allowed in the football facilities in Ann Arbor. That includes sports drinks. It was something recruits noticed as Michigan welcomes prospects onto campus for official visits.
"There is no red allowed in the facilities… You can't even drink red Gatorade."

Michigan’s new policy mirrors something that’s been in place in Columbus for years.
At Ohio State, the color blue is not permitted in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Those who do wear the color that represents Michigan are expected to do push-ups or some other exercise as punishment.
With Jim Harbaugh entering his seventh season at Michigan, there’s incredible pressure for the program to stop the eight-game losing streak to Ohio State. Even though he received a restructured contract after a 2-4 campaign in 2020, there’s also pressure for the Wolverines to return to the top tier of the B1G.
This offseason, Michigan has put in a lot of energy and effort to snap the losing streak to Ohio State. We’ll see what happens on the field in late November.
