This is certainly a positive sign for Jake Butt.

The Denver Broncos tight end and former Michigan Wolverines star has had an incredible string of bad luck. In his final game with the Wolverines, Butt tore his ACL. That injury had him slide to the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Butt did not see the field in 2017, and his fortunes were not much better in 2018. He appeared in just three games before another ACL injury sidelined him for the season.

Thankfully, Butt is recovering from that injury and recently returned to the football field with the Broncos during preseason action. In a video interview shared by the Broncos, Butt said he is encouraged following his outing:

“Yeah, it felt good,” said Butt. “I don’t want to get too excited about getting 11 plays in the preseason, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. I gotta look at the tape, but I feel pretty good about what I did out there. Had a couple catches, I felt I blocked well and came out healthy.”
