5-star shooting forward Emoni Bates has set his new commitment date and it is fast approaching.

According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, the announcement of where Bates is going will be coming on Wednesday.

As the tweet also says, his 4 finalists are Oregon, Michigan State, Memphis, and the G League.

Bates was originally committed to Michigan State but ended up opening up his recruitment again back in April. Even though he did that, he still said he was considering the Spartans, though it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be committing there again.

On his 247Sports page, all of the crystal ball predictions have Bates going to Memphis, including one from today. Sean Scherer, the Michigan State insider for 247Sports, put a confidence level “9” crystal ball in for Bates to go to the Tigers on Tuesday afternoon.

Bates reclassified to 2021 just a few weeks ago and is ranked as the 4th best player in the nation per his 247Sports composite ranking. He’s also the nation’s top shooting forward and the top player from Michigan as well.
