Charles Brantley set Michigan State history with electric pick-6 vs. Prairie View A&M
Charles Brantley will go down in the history books for Michigan State football.
During Saturday’s (40-0) shutout over Prairie View A&M, the senior defensive back snagged an interception from the Spartans’ end zone and returned it for an electric 100-yard pick 6.
It’s the first time Michigan State football has ever had a 100-yard pick-6, and only the 16th time it has happened in Big Ten football history. Ironically, it also marks the first Spartans’ interception for a touchdown since Brantley took an INT to the house against Ohio State in 2022.

In a wild twist, the MSU senior snagged a 38-yard pick-6 earlier in the game that was called back on penalty due to a hit to the head of the opposing QB. But Brantley found his redemption in the best way possible, inking his name in the Spartans’ football history books forever.
Michigan State was in complete control over the FCS opponent from the initial whistle. The Spartans offense put up 458 yards of offense, while converting on 8-of-11 third down attempts and only punting once during the entire game.
The talent gap between the two teams was particularly evident when Michigan State was on defense. The Spartans limited the Panthers to just 140 yards of total offense, while allowing just 3 of their 11 third down attempts converted and limiting them to just over 3 yards per play.
The Spartans will hope to ride the momentum from today’s win into next week where they take a road trip to battle No. 24 Boston College.
