Charles Willekes, the younger brother of former Michigan State standout Kenny Willekes, has announced his transfer destination.

The linebacker had a bit of a tumultuous route during his time in East Lansing, appearing in just one game during the 2019 season. Willekes, along with Luke Fulton, was then suspended prior to the 2020 season. He did not see action for Mel Tucker’s squad.

Both Fulton and Willekes have since transferred out of East Lansing with Fulton heading to the SEC and joining the Kentucky Wildcats in February. Willekes’ decision took a bit longer as he announced his destination Tuesday evening.

Willekes shared on his personal Twitter account that he will be heading to Arkansas State to continue his collegiate career:

Willekes joined the Spartans in 2019 via walk-on, similar to his older brother. However, the younger Willekes did not decide to pursue college football until two years after the end of his time in high school.

Best of luck to Willekes as he heads to his next destination with the Red Wolves.
