Jacoby Windmon has been one of the few bright spots on the Michigan State roster this season since transferring from UNLV. He won his third Player of the Week award for his play on Saturday, and has joined an impressive list per Detroit Free Press’ Chris Solari.

The only players to have done it besides Windmon are Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern, 1995), Tom Burke (Wisconsin 1998), Paul Posluszney (Penn State, 2005), Ryan Shazier (Ohio State, 2013), and Anthony Walker (Northwestern, 2015).

If Windmon can find a way to win another one in Week 8, he’ll become the first B1G player to do so.

Windmon was all over the place against Wisconsin. He finished the game with 11 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception. Windmon now has 37 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, and 1 interception on the year.

If the Michigan State defense can eventually turn itself around, Windmon should be at the forefront. The Spartans will need him to do so if they want to make a bowl game this season.
