It’s not a Michigan State football game if Jayden Reed isn’t doing something positive.

Reed opened the scoring for the Spartans after he made a spectacular diving catch right outside the goal line. His momentum carried him forward and Payton Thorne put the ball in the only place where Reed could make a play.

MSU will need Reed to have a big day if it’s to take down the ACC Champs.

The Spartans are playing without star running back Kenneth Walker III after he decided to declare for the NFL Draft a bit early. He was a key cog to their offense after finishing with 1,636 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on 263 carries.

Pitt is also playing without one of its best players in quarterback Kenny Pickett. He also decided to declare for the NFL Draft early and skipped this game.

That said, the Panthers answered right back with backup quarterback Nick Patti running the ball in to tie the game at 7.
