JD Duplain, a key offensive lineman for Michigan State, has announced his plans for the 2023 season. A four-year veteran, Duplain will be returning to East Lansing next year.

The OL announced his decision via Twitter, along with a caption simply stating “unfinished business.” Duplain will return as a fifth-year senior.

Duplain has appeared in 41 career games at Michigan State, including 35 starts at left guard and the past 30 straight. The OL started all 12 games at left guard this season. He took 742 snaps this season, which ranks him third among offensive linemen and fourth overall on the team.

Duplain is a two-time Academic All-B1G selection and was a second-team preseason All-B1G nominee this year. The OL was graded at 75.3 overall according to PFF, good enough for second on the MSU offensive line.

The OL’s return is a welcome announcement for Michigan State fans, as the Spartans try to rebuild after a disappointing 5-7 season. Duplain joins center Nick Samac, who will also return to the Spartans for the 2023 season.
