Cassius Winston continues to grow his game and impress the basketball world, posting a strong game on Sunday against Michigan.

The star point guard and All-American for Tom Izzo’s Spartans hit another level against the Wolverines. Winston set a new career-high with 32 points while chipping in nine assists. He was also impressively efficient, going 11-for-19 from the floor and 2-for-3 from downtown.

Winston has garnered plenty of attention following a big week of action, but the latest praise for the young guard is maybe the biggest of all. On Tuesday, Michigan State legend and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson gave a ringing endorsement for Winston as an NBA prospect.

Johnson praised Winston as a player who is showing scouts he can truly do it all from the point guard position, including shooting the deep ball and play good defense. He also compared Winston to six-time All-Star and NBA champion point guard Kyle Lowry:

Over his 14-year career, Lowry has averaged 14.6 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. Along with his All-Star appearances, Lowry has been named to one All-NBA team and captured the NBA Finals in 2019 with the Toronto Raptors.

Hopefully, Winston is able to have at least a small portion of the success Lowry has achieved at the NBA level.
