Michigan State and Michigan are meeting up once again to get March started, and Marcus Bingham Jr. wasted no time adding to his block tally.

Early in the first half, Bingham recorded one swat to give him 154 career blocks. That is the all-time program record for the Spartans, a mark Binghman now holds by himself.

Bingham tied Xavier Tillman’s previous program record of 153 blocks on Saturday during the upset win over No. 4 Purdue. Now, Bingham will end his career all alone in the top spot.

Bingham was mainly a reserve big man his first 3 seasons with the Spartans. During the 2021-22 season, he has elevated his game as a starter, averaging 8.9 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 55% from the floor. We’ll see if he is able to have a big impact Tuesday against the Wolverines.
