Michigan State is putting the finishing touches to the 2021 recruiting class on National Signing Day, and head coach Mel Tucker previewed the upcoming season during his radio show appearance.

On Wednesday, Tucker touched on a number of things. Among the topics included were a couple of players that he confirmed will be returning to East Lansing for the 2021 season.

The two players that we now know will suit up once again for the Spartans this year are defensive lineman Jacub Panasiuk and tight end Matt Dotson. Both players were members of the 2017 recruiting class and have seen action in four seasons for Michigan State.

That means both will be using the extra year of eligibility handed out by the NCAA for 2020:

Panasiuk has been a key member of the defensive front. He has accumulated 106 tackles, 18 TFL, and 7.5 sacks. His best individual season came in 2019 when he finished with 8.5 TFL and 3.5 sacks.

For Dotson, he has 41 career catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns. In 2020, Dotson recorded nine catches for 107 yards, but that was still the fourth-highest receiving total for a Spartans team that was challenged offensively throughout the year.

Hopefully both Dotson and Panasiuk are able to contribute strong numbers with one more year at Michigan State. Also, be sure to check out all of Tucker’s comments from Wednesday.
