Michigan State is putting together an elite recruiting class under head coach Mel Tucker. Tuesday evening, the Spartans landed another key prospect with an offensive lineman out of Florida.

The player is Clay Wedin, a 4-star interior lineman out of Carrollwood Day High School in Tampa, Florida. He committed to the Spartans over a host of Power 5 offers, including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Maryland, Nebraska and Penn State out of the B1G.

Wedin is listed at 6-foot-6 and 295 lbs. According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Wedin is the No. 21 IOL in the country for the class of 2023.

Wedin joins Michigan State’s recruiting class as the 3rd pledge out of Florida. He is also the 8th prospect rated a 4-star prospect to commit to the Spartans for the cycle with Tucker’s recruiting class climbing all the way to No. 9 nationally for 2023.

Most recently, the Spartans picked up a Tuesday commitment from 4-star DB Jaylon Braxton out of Texas. Jordan Hall, a 4-star LB out of Florida, committed to the Spartans over the weekend.
