Michigan State pummeled Northwestern by the score of 38-21. Transfer running back Kenneth Walker III proved to be unstoppable for the Wildcats, as he ran for 264 yards and 4 touchdowns on 23 carries — that’s an average of 11.5 yards per attempt.

College football analyst Joel Klatt even called out the Walter Camp Award committee for not including Walker in their national Players of the Week awards.

New Spartans quarterback Payton Thorne was also effective in his first game after winning a quarterback competition in fall camp. He completed 15-of-25 passes for 185 yards and 1 touchdown. He also rushed for 28 yards on 5 attempts.
