Draymond Green has been in the same position Gabe Brown was in on Thursday night. And the former Spartan sent out a message to everyone on social media following the heated exchange between Brown and head coach Tom Izzo.
“RELAX!”
Tempers flared at the end of the first half when there was a breakdown defensively for Michigan State, allowing UCLA to get a bucket at the buzzer. Izzo and Brown exchanged words and the head coach grabbed his player’s jersey while trying to talk with him as the two walked up the tunnel at Mackey Arena.
Some thought it was no big deal, while others called it out of line. Green told everyone to move on.
“Typical Michigan State exchange,” Green wrote. “Move on RELAX!”
Green followed that up with another tweet, saying,” That’s what winning looks like!”

Unfortunately for Michigan State, that was not what winning looked like. Despite owning a 14-point lead at one point and a 3-point advantage with under 30 seconds to play, the Bruins were able to score a late basket and get an old-fashioned 3-point play to forced overtime. UCLA then scored the first four points of the extra session and never looked back.
UCLA went on to win the game 86-80, ending Michigan State’s season at Mackey Arena. The Spartans closed out the 2020-21 campaign with a 15-13 record.
