Tom Izzo, son Steven share special moment following milestone win in regular-season finale
Tom Izzo had to sweat out another finish Sunday afternoon. In the end, Michigan State outlasted Maryland to give the head coach a milestone victory.
That win gives Izzo 663 in his career with the Spartans, passing Indiana legend Bob Knight for the most victories by a head coach at a B1G program. Ironically, Izzo’s first conference win as head coach at Michigan State came on Jan. 4, 1996, vs. Knight and the Hoosiers.
After the win, Izzo had a special moment with his son, Steven. Steven Izzo was subbed into action with less than a minute to go once the score was well in hand. It was his 27th appearance in a game while playing for his dad.
Steven shared an embrace with his father who was visibly emotional after the win:

Now, Tom Izzo will look to get his team ready for the B1G Tournament and win No. 664 in Indianapolis.
