WATCH: MSU kicker Matt Coghlin drills long-distance FGs with both feet
Matt Coghlin has become one of the best kickers in the B1G throughout his career. In two seasons as Michigan State’s kicker, he’s knocking home 80 percent of his field goal attempts.
So what’s the next challenge for a guy who can drill just about anything through the uprights? How about giving it a try with his off foot.
That’s right, Coghlin has become so proficient with his right leg, he decided to give kicking a try with his left foot. The result was pretty impressive.
Coghlin was able to knock down field goals from a pretty good distance with both legs. Below is the video shared by BTN:
So @MatthewCoghlin saw Maryland K @joseph_petrino kicking field goals with both feet last week…
And the @MSU_Football K decided to give it a try himself. 👇 pic.twitter.com/rsQPjr6sLf

He may not be switching to his left foot during any game situations, but it’s still a pretty impressive feat. Sorry for the pun.

In two years, Coghlin has converted on just over 80 percent of his kicks, putting 33-of-41 attempts through the uprights. He’s also a perfect 63-of-63 on extra point attempts.
