A week before the Early Signing Period begins, Minnesota received some good news on the recruiting trail.

Wednesday, 3-star defensive end M.J. Anderson recommitted to the Golden Gophers, posting a video on Twitter. He had decommitted from the program on Nov. 29.

Anderson becomes the 23rd prospect in Minnesota’s 2019 class.

At 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, Anderson is a top 20 player from the state of Missouri and is one of the top 60 defensive ends in the recruiting cycle. In addition to Minnesota, Anderson received offers from Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue and Rutgers.

Minnesota currently owns the 34th ranked recruiting class of 2019. The Gophers sit at eighth in the B1G.

Anderson initially committed to the program in August.
