With the Outback Bowl approaching, players on both sides of the matchup are starting to announce their intentions.

So far, we know that Minnesota’s Kamal Martin is out to prepare for the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, Auburn’s Derrick Brown, widely regarded as a high first-round pick, will play for the Tigers.

On Friday, Minnesota’s Antoine Winfield Jr. also announced that he will play for the Gophers. Winfield finished as the leading tackler for the Gophers and posted seven interceptions, earning All-American honors in the process.

Now, Auburn defensive lineman and pass rusher Nick Coe has revealed that he will be skipping the bowl game and foregoing his senior season to enter the 2020 NFL Draft. He shared his decision on Instagram:

Coe’s impact in 2019 was limited with just 15 total tackles and zero sacks while appearing in nine games. That came on the heels of a very successful 2018 campaign when he had 13.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

Hopefully, Coe’s absence opens up a bit more breathing room for the Minnesota offense. Kickoff for the Outback Bowl is set for 1 pm EST on New Year’s Day.
