Minnesota has a big nonconference matchup coming up in Week 3 as it travels to face Colorado on the road.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Minnesota is a healthy underdog vs. the Buffaloes. FPI gives the Gophers just a 39.3 percent chance of pulling off the road victory.

These two programs have met three times previously, with Colorado winning all three matchups. Their last meeting was a 21-20 victory for Colorado in 1992. The Buffs won 58-0 the previous year in 1991.

Minnesota has struggled a bit to open the year. The Gophers fought hard against Ohio State in Week 1, but ultimately lost by multiple scores. In Week 2, Minnesota struggled to put away Miami (OH) at home.

Meanwhile, Colorado is coming off a near-upset against Texas A&M last week. The Aggies needed a late touchdown drive to win the game in Boulder.

Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck says he’s already addressed the team about the difficulties of playing at altitude.

Kick off is at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday.
