WWE is signing Minnesota wrestler Gable Steveson to an multi-year NIL deal, according to ESPN.

The 21-year-old Steveson is an Olympic gold medalist and also won the NCAA Championships earlier this year for his weight class (285 pounds).

According to ESPN’s report, WWE will set up a remote training facility for Steveson around Minnesota’s campus where he’ll be instructed by WWE coaches. Steveson will also have access to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

For Steveson, a native of Portage, Indiana, this is a dream come true to begin his journey after admiring the WWE for quite some time.

“I’ve been on WWE since I was really young,” said Steveson, WWE’s first gold medalist since Kurt Angle. “I was on guys like Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman for a very long time. So growing up watching them, me being an entertainer on the wrestling mat, it just felt like it was the right choice.”

The 6-foot-1, 265-pound Steveson was previously entertaining the possibility of playing football for Minnesota. Steveson also announced Thursday that he’s returning to Minnesota wrestling for one more year:
