Marcus Carr is a smart player and is one of the best guards in the B1G. He proved both of those things in Thursday evening’s game against Purdue.

Caught in a tough situation, Carr had to do some quick thinking when he was caught in the air with multiple Purdue defenders surrounding him. The Minnesota guard bounced the ball off of a teammate’s leg, got it back and drilled a floater.

It wasn’t the prettiest play to see, but it was incredibly smart and athletic. It also takes quite a bit of confidence for a player to risk a turnover in order to get a bucket.

Carr has been a great player for Minnesota all season long, averaging 19.9 points, 5.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. He’s also shooting 42.4% from the floor.

Earlier on Thursday, Carr was one of eight B1G players named to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team.
