Minnesota continues to put in the work on the recruiting trail with the Gophers reaching down into SEC territory for a commitment on Monday.

This time, the commitment comes from Kerry Brown, a 3-star safety out of Naples, Florida. Brown committed to the Gophers over offers from Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Iowa State and a host of others.

“I’m thankful for my coaches and teammates pushing me every day, on and off the field, and supporting me to be the best version of myself,” Brown wrote in his announcement. “With that being said, I’d like to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota!”

Listed at 6-feet and 175 lbs., the 247 Sports Composite Rankings have Brown as a 3-star prospect. He’s also the No. 70 safety nationally for the class of 2023.

Brown’s commitment bring Minnesota up to 13 for the cycle with P.J. Fleck’s team rising up the team recruiting rankings. As things currently stand, the Gophers have the No. 12 recruiting class nationally for 2023.

Minnesota also recently added commitments from Latreveon McCutchin, a linebacker out of Texas, and De’Eric Mister, an offensive lineman out of Indiana.
