One of the B1G’s top receivers is returning for his senior season.

Monday night, Minnesota receiver Tyler Johnson announced via Twitter that he’ll be returning for his final season in Minneapolis. He made his announcement short and sweet, but one Gophers fans will love.

“Last ride,” Johnson wrote with a photo.

Johnson had an incredible year for the Golden Gophers. He finished the season with 78 catches (3rd in B1G), 1,169 receiving yards (2nd in B1G) and 12 touchdown catches (tied-1st in B1G). He had six games in which he eclipsed 100 yards.

Johnson has been one of the B1G’s top receivers each of the last two seasons and will be one of the top returning players in the conference in 2019.

In three seasons with the Gophers, Johnson has tallied 127 catches for 1,987 yards and 20 touchdowns. He’s recorded 100 receiving yards in nine different games over the last two years.

Thanks in large part to Johnson’s efforts, Minnesota finished the season winning three of its final four games, including victories over Purdue, Wisconsin and Georgia Tech. The Gophers were 7-6 to close out the year.
