Chubba Purdy was thrust into the starting lineup for Nebraska’s Week 12 game at Wisconsin, and he opened the game on quite a tear.

On the first two drives of the game, Purdy delivered a pair of scoring drives for the Cornhuskers. The first one came with Purdy’s legs as he avoided a blitzing defender and raced through the Badger defense for a 55-yard touchdown.

On the ensuing drive, Purdy utilized his arm after Nebraska fell behind the chains with a 2nd-and-20. The offense never panicked with Purdy hitting Jaylen Lloyd with a bullet over the middle.

Purdy’s throw to Lloyd was enough for a first down, but Lloyd went to work for yards after the catch. He made one man miss and exploded down the sideline for a 58-yard score to give Nebraska the 14-0 lead early on.

By the time Purdy threw his first incompletion on the third drive, he was 5-for-5 for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also has 49 rushing yards and another touchdown early.

Entering the week, Nebraska had some uncertainty at the QB position after a turnover-heavy performance from the group in Week 11. So far, Purdy looks like the answer fans have been waiting for:
