Matt Rhule confirms suspension for key Nebraska DB entering fall camp

Matt Rhule is entering his first season as the head coach at Nebraska with the Huskers beginning training camp on Monday. Unfortunately, the Huskers did so with a key performer from last season’s team suspended and not on the roster.
Rhule confirmed after Monday’s practice that defensive back Myles Farmer is suspended and is not included on the full roster right now. There was not one single incident included as reasoning for the suspension but it is rather related to not adhering to “the standard” of the program.
Rhule said Myles Farmer is not included on the 120-man roster right now with his current suspension.

This is not the first time Farmer has been suspended. He was previously suspended for the Michigan game last season following a DUI charge in the middle of the season.
Last season, Farmer finished second on the Huskers with 73 total tackles. He also delivered 4 pass breakups and an interception in 11 starts as a key piece for the defense.
Losing a contributor like Farmer from the defense certainly stings, so we will see if he is able to work his way back onto the team before the season rolls around. In the mean time, the door is open for other players to carve out a role during training camp.
