Matt Rhule provides injury update on QB Dylan Raiola before game vs. USC
Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are on a 3-game skid after starting the season 5-1, and the team will look to salvage its season and become bowl-eligible.
Up next for the Cornhuskers is a game against a USC team that is in a similar position in terms of trying to get things back on the right track after a fast start.
For Rhule, one of the biggest question marks is the availability of quarterback Dylan Raiola, who left the game against UCLA with a back injury. While he didn’t give a definitive answer, Rhule did say that Raiola would try and give it a go at practice on Tuesday.
While the team is hoping that Raiola is able to play on Saturday, Rhule did also say the team would be preparing Heinrich Haarberg to play as well.

Haarberg did get a good amount of playing time last season, as he threw for 967 yards, 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He came into the game against UCLA but was only 2-of-7 for 32 yards and 1 interception.
Raiola has started every game so far this season in his true freshman campaign. He started the season with some hot moments but has been on a rough stretch of late.
Another consideration for the Huskers is the change at offensive coordinator. Rhule spent the majority of Monday’s press conference discussing the change after announcing the Huskers are moving forward with Dana Holgorsen at OC after hiring the former head coach as an analyst over the bye.
Nebraska has to win 1 of its last 3 regular season games if it wants to make a bowl. After the game against USC, the Cornhuskers host Wisconsin and then end the season at Iowa.
