Matt Rhule responds to Dylan Raiola transfer portal rumors
Matt Rhule felt the need to speak up about the rumors that have been going around about his quarterback.
After Nebraska finished the regular season at 6-6, its best record since 2016, the Cornhuskers anxiously awaited Dylan Raiola’s next decision after it was rumored that the star freshman was considering entering the transfer portal. But Raiola put those rumors to rest with 1 Instagram post, confirming that he would return to Lincoln in 2025.
Raiola posted a picture of himself on his Instagram story with the caption, “All in! GBR.” The former 5-star recruit’s “GBR” reference was a nod to Cornhuskers fans’ signature phrase: “Go Big Red.” Then, after Raiola spoke out on social media, his head coach chimed in.
“I don’t deal in rumors, I deal in fact,” said Rhule on Tuesday. “He’s here, he’s with us, he’s been all in for us. He’s a good enough player that every school in the country should probably come try to recruit him.”

Raiola threw for 2,595 yards this season with 12 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions as a true freshman. He helped lead the Cornhuskers to their first bowl game since 2016 where Nebraska will face Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 28 in a noon ET Saturday kickoff from the Bronx on ABC.
And it sounds like Raiola will be back in Lincoln in 2025 to build on this season despite all the noise. If he continues to develop under Dana Holgorsen, some special moments could be in store for the Husker offense.
