Rhule most recently coached in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers. Rhule was fired after compiling an 11-27 record in a little over 2 seasons at the helm.
However, Rhule has been much more successful at the college level. As the head coach at Temple from 2013-16, Rhule led the Owls to their 1st conference championship since 1967. Rhule’s Owls also upset Penn State, Rhule’s alma mater.
Before the 2017 season, Rhule became the head man at Baylor. Dealing with sanctions and fallout from serious scandals, Rhule turned that program around as well. Rhule led the Bears to an 11-1 record in his final season at the helm.
Rhule has a 47-43 record as a head coach in college. With a reputation for rebuilding programs, Nebraska faithful are hopeful their school will be the next on that list.
