Nebraska football is going through some changes. The program announced Mickey Joseph’s replacement at receivers coach now that he will be the head coach until further notice.

The team’s former offensive analyst, Mike Cassano, will now be the receivers coach in Lincoln. This season is his 5th season at Nebraska. He was on Scott Frost’s staff at UCF when Frost accepted the Nebraska job in 2017.

Cassano has also had stints at Eastern Michigan, Lehigh, UMass, FIU, Miami, and Georgia Tech.

It was expected that there was going to be an opening with Joseph getting promoted to interim head coach. Nebraska AD Trev Alberts stated that Joseph has the power to change up the coaching staff since he is now head coach. Joseph has not made any more changes to Alberts’ knowledge.

Joseph’s Nebraska coaching debut will be against Oklahoma Saturday at noon ET on FOX. Husker fans will get to see what a Mickey Joseph run team will look like in Week 3.
