Nebraska reportedly loses starting DB to transfer portal less than 1 month before season

Nebraska defensive back Myles Farmer has entered the transfer portal, according to a report.
That’s per On3’s Matt Zenitz, who notes that Farmer was a starter last season for the Huskers. He finished 2nd on the team with a career-high 73 tackles in 2022. He also started the final 4 games of the 2021 campaign.

Earlier this week, Nebraska coach Matt Rhule suspended Farmer indefinitely entering fall camp. Rhule said the decision to suspend Farmer was based on him not “adhering to the standard” of the program.
Farmer was also suspended for the Michigan game last season after being arrested for DUI.
Farmer is entering his 5th season in Lincoln. It’s unclear if he’s entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer or not. Players who enter the portal outside of the designated transfer windows are not eligible to play in the following season unless they are graduate transfers.
He is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2019.
Nebraska will open the 2023 season against Minnesota on Aug. 31.
