Luke McCaffrey is a freshman quarterback at Nebraska. The Huskers are playing Iowa Friday for a chance to get to 6-6 and become bowl eligible.
The offense, in the first half, didn’t do much. Nebraska trailed 24-10 at halftime and needed a spark after its lone touchdown of the game came off a pick-six by the Huskers’ defense.

The offense got that spark midway through the third quarter thanks to McCaffrey. The Husker newcomer — who back up regular starter Adrian Martinez — is typically thought of as more of a runner. On this play, he rolled out to the left and saw wide receiver JD Spielman sprinting down the field.
He hit Spielman and the two connected on a perfect 39-yard TD:
