Tyjon Lindsey, a former 4-star recruit for Nebraska for the Class of 2018, was granted his release from the program earlier this week.

This of course left a few Cornhusker fans feeling a bit salty. At the same time, though, Lindsey never truly got in stride at Nebraska. It’s not as though the Huskers just lost a huge chunk of their offense.

At the same time, however, fans are fanatics.

A story was released on Thursday by an Omaha World-Herald reporter — Kevin Coffey — that talked about Lindsey. And not about Lindsey on the field.

It was about Lindsey’s rapping career. Coffey, a scribe who typically writes about music for the Omaha World-Herald, had a point in writing the article. It’s about music and it’s about a hot new story in the world of Nebraska football.

Welcome, clicks. It should be said, though, that Coffey essentially gave a review on Lindsey’s rapping ability.

Current Nebraska WR J.D. Spielman had a problem with the whole thing. He defended Lindsey through Twitter:

Yeah, Spielman’s not having it and he’s willing to back his former teammate. It’s more than likely that Lindsey feels the same about the article.

Here’s Lindsey’s response to Spielman:

Yep, he’s not in favor of it either.
