What does Nebraska’s depth chart look like going into the 2019 season?

Your guess is as good as mine. It hasn’t been released yet.

However, with that said, the Huskers 2019 season begins on Aug. 31 when the team hosts South Alabama. The depth chart should be here soon. On Friday, however, Frost announced who the team’s starting center would be, before the massive reveal.

Cam Jurgens was the anticipated starter at center, but injury concerns made the situation a bit murky for Week 1. Here’s Frost talking about the depth chart at center:

“The initial depth chart will come out soon, and I expect Cam [Jurgens] to be No. 1 on that chart,” Frost said.

Since his senior year of high school, Jurgens has suffered a broken leg and a foot injury. Jurgens didn’t see much action to this point in fall camp, but others getting increased repetitions apparently hasn’t put Jurgens’ starting job in jeopardy.

“I thought the guys that were in did a really good job,” Frost said. “I think Will Farniok’s got a bright future here. He’s still young but he did some really good things. Piper did some really good things being new to our program. AJ Forbes did well, Wegener did well.

“That being said, we look a little bit different with Cam Jurgens back in full speed now. We’ve got to keep him healthy, but I think he’s going to be a game-changer for us on the inside of the line.”
