Scott Frost updates injury status of Adrian Martinez, JD Spielman
Nebraska finished Saturday’s win over Northwestern without two offensive stars, and head coach Scott Frost updated their injury news after the game.
The Cornhuskers squeaked out a 13-10 win over Northwestern on a last-second field goal. It wasn’t pretty, but it was just enough as backup quarterback Noah Vedral led the offense down the field for the win.

During the game, both starting quarterback Adrian Martinez and star receiver JD Spielman were sidelined with injuries. Martinez appeared to sustain a lower-body injury while Spielman was seen with ice on his knee after halftime.
Frost did not give a lot of details on either, but he did indicate that the injuries do not appear to be serious to either player. Hopefully, they’ll return to action soon.
Sam McKewon with the Omaha World-Herald shared Frost’s post-game comments:
Frost said the injuries to Martinez and Spielman are likely “not too serious.”
