Nebraska has already found its (likely) starting quarterback to begin the 2022 season. However, it looks like the Huskers might not be done searching for QB depth via the portal.

Last week, Nebraska and head coach Scott Frost landed ex-Texas QB Casey Thompson via the transfer portal. Thompson brings with him Power 5 experience and threw for 2,113 yards with 28 total touchdowns during the 2021 season.

On Sunday, another quarterback in the portal thanked Frost for a weekend visit. That player is ex-Florida State QB Chubba Purdy.

“Thank you Coach Frost and the Nebraska staff for an awesome visit with my Family and I,” Purdy wrote via a post on his Twitter account.

Purdy began his college career as a 4-star prospect and the No. 7 dual-threat QB via the class of 20220. He played sparingly in 2 seasons with the Seminoles, throwing for 317 yards and 4 touchdowns with an interception.

Even with Thompson already on board, adding Purdy for depth in the QB room would likely be a big boost for 2022 and beyond.
