DJ Durkin may still have his job as head coach of the Terrapins, but it is unclear how much support he will have from the players moving forward.

In an interesting turn of events, Durkin retained his job after the conclusion of two independent investigations into allegations of a “toxic culture” under his watch at Maryland. Following the investigations, it was announced Tuesday that Durkin would remain in his current position as head coach.

Following the press conference, it was reported that multiple Maryland players walked out of a team meeting led by Durkin Tuesday afternoon. Terrapins OL Ellis McKennie also spoke out on the decision, calling out the lack of courage and accountability following the death of Jordan McNair.

Now, Nicole Auerbach with The Athletic is reporting that one private coach with connections to current Maryland players believes players want out of Maryland. The situation is so upsetting that players without an NFL grade are supposedly considering declaring for the NFL, simply because “These kids want to get out of there…They do not want to play for this man.”

Auerbach shared a screenshot of the quote from the anonymous coach on Twitter:
