You saw Drew Brees’ speech to the Purdue locker room last week. But did you know LeBron James went to Ohio State?
That’s what B1G Network analyst Joshua Perry said Friday afternoon on “The Replies,” a BTN YouTube show. He talked about the time Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer brought James — an Ohio native and Ohio State superfan — into the locker room for a pregame speech.
🗣 @DrewBrees gave an electric pump-up speech before @BoilerFootball's win last week.
Not to be outdone, @RIP_JEP name-dropped a Buckeye locker room speech given by @KingJames 😲

“Urban didn’t really like bringing in the guest speakers, but he brought in LeBron James one time,” Perry said in a clip on the B1G Network’s Twitter. “I thought that was super cool because here was, like, one of the greatest to ever do it in any sport who was a fan of us trying to pump us up, which was awesome.”
It appears the speech took place before Ohio State took on Wisconsin in 2013, according to a story on Cleveland.com. The Buckeyes ended up winning that game 31-24.
