Ohio State players could potentially be big winners of the new name, image and likeness policy. One former Buckeye wants to try and help current players capitalize on those opportunities.
Cardale Jones led Ohio State to a national championship in 2014 and bounced around the NFL for a few years. He played for the XFL’s DC Defenders last season and now wants to get involved with NIL as an advisor.
Jones is starting an agency called Ten Talents NIL, which will offer “management, legal counsel, marketing, and crisis communications expertise to student athletes,” according to a press release, via Cleveland.com.
After JT Barrett got hurt during the last week of the 2014 season, Jones was called to start the B1G title game and led Ohio State to a victory over Wisconsin. He then helped the Buckeyes stun No. 1 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and, eventually, win the national championship over Oregon.
Jones’ NFL career lasted just one season. He appeared in one game for the Buffalo Bills in 2016, completing 6-of-11 passes for 96 yards.
More updates from Ten Talents NIL are expected in the coming weeks and months.
