Colton Feist is officially stepping away from Nebraska football. Feist described the decision as one of the toughest he’s ever had to make.
Feist played in all 12 games for the Huskers this season. The Nebraska DL recorded 46 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks in 2022.
Here’s what Feist had to say about the decision via his Twitter account:
“It was one of the toughest decisions of my life to walk away from playing football at Nebraska, but it was time for me to move on,” said Feist. “Thanks for everything Huskers Nation!”

Feist originally walked on to play football at Nebraska in 2017. Since then, Feist has played for Scott Frost (2017-2022) and interim HC Mickey Joseph (2022). Joseph led Nebraska to a 4-8 record this season after the firing of Frost. Nebraska capped off the regular season with a 24-17 victory over Iowa at Kinnick Stadium.
Feist joins LB Garrett Nelson and TE Chancellor Brewington as the most recent players to leave the program.
