Stalions eventually resigned from Michigan’s staff early in November due to allegations and an investigation of in-person scouting and illicit sign-stealing. Head coach Jim Harbaugh has continually denied any knowledge of wrongdoing on the part of his staff, and he eventually served a 3-game suspension handed down by the Big Ten as a result of the investigation.
Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge was also fired leading up to the game against Maryland, and Harbaugh and the university eventually pulled off a legal battle to fight the head coach’s suspension.
