Just a few short weeks ago, it appeared the run of gold medals by Team USA in Olympic Basketball was in jeopardy of coming to an end.
To open the Olympic tournament, Team USA fell to France by a score of 83-76. That loss came as Team USA blew a lead in the closing minutes of the game for a shocking opening loss.
Fast forward to Friday night, and Team USA once again faced off against France, this time with the gold medal on the line.
In what proved to be another hard-fought game, Team USA prevailed with an 87-82 victory. The Americans were led once again by Kevin Durant with 29 points in the final after Durant scored a game-high 23 points in the semifinal win over Australia. Jayson Tatum scored 19 points for Team USA in the gold medal win.
With a win in the gold medal game, former Michigan State star Draymond Green also secured a bit of history. The win gives Green a second gold medal to go along with his collection of three NBA titles.
That makes Green one of just five players ever to accomplish those numbers. The rest of the group consists of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant, and Lebron James.

Very impressive for the former Spartan. Congratulations to Green and Team USA on yet another gold on the hardwood!
